New Music Friday is pretty much (no pun intended) our favorite day for obvious reasons, but the latest boyband sensation PRETTYMUCH have dropped their EP 'Smackables' (Sire Records) which they recorded in their home studios. The five-piece (Nick Mara, Brandon Arreaga, Edwin Honoret, Zion Kuwonu, and Austin Porter) were eager to release their timeless authentic six-track EP and enter a new chapter. "We want to be the genre-benders. We want to be the trendsetters. We want to be breaking the mold. And with this music, we’re finally doing that” said Arreaga. What listeners/fans will hear on the Smackables EP are the band's evolutional growth in each song and therapeutic experimentation. The EP tackles loneliness, break-ups, and being in the spotlight. Each member has a creative role-- plus throw in pop, rap, rock, electronic, soul, also R&B you're going to have a banging record! Kuwonu stated, "They’ve now become some of our favorite songs we’ve ever released. That’s an incredible feeling as an artist". Honoret adds, "Everything falls into place when we start loving every moment of it. That's been one of our goals: if we're making music, we're going have fun doing it."
What makes this EP work is the uplifting involvement with its bandmates and how they motivate each other. As well as their killer dance moves choreographed by Ian Eastwood (worked with Justin Bieber) "I'm proud to be standing next to these guys” proclaimed Arreaga. Hence, proving that working with your best friends can be a benefit. PRETTYMUCH have been building their strong musical roots since their days opening for Khalid and we have high anticipation for them to see their next musical journey. To celebrate the release, PRETTYMUCH will host a virtual EP listening party presented on Thursday, March 4th at 6pm PT/9pm ET in North America. To purchase tickets, visit momenthouse.com/prettymuch
