Dinner and a Concert

What's more relaxing than dining inside at a concert restaurant/ bar right before a show? Nothing makes the night more festive than those two combined! Monday night (10/1) at a sold out show for The Church at The Chapel, I was curious to taste their new restaurant Curio. The restaurant is divided into three sections that include the bars, dining hall area, and patio with outdoor heaters. It's convenient for those dining solo, eating with a big party, or an intimate date night. Curio conveys a spiritual atmosphere with its dim lights, supernatural theme, unique creative menus, and super attentive staff.

Just one glance at the cocktail menu was all I needed to be stunned by Curio. Each drink named after mythical creatures enticed the visit--creating a magical and mystical evening for their customers. Adding onto their diverse menu, their equivalent to "Happy Hour" or Witching Hour is offered during the weekdays for 2 hours with a range of tasty appetizers. Let's not forget their main entrees, which feature salads, seafood, burgers, and platers that will leave your open mouth watering for more.

After eating to my satisfaction, it was time for me to watch The Church perform in promotion of their 30th anniversary album Starfish. Even before the native Australians stepped on stage, the audience kept on cheering in anticipation. It's amazing to see fans growing up with a band (similar to The Cure and Tears for Fears) that's nearly 40 years old! Frontman and bassist Steve Kilbey still holds his trancedly vocals since the 80s.

The entire night focused on their successful 5th album where fans sang the lyrics to their heart's content. Parents bringing their kids to listen to The Church as a bonding moment was incredible. Even just the setting matched the mood and vibe that night. When they sang their hit song "Under the Milky Way", the background lights looked like stars giving it a celestial feeling. The chemistry between The Church and the crowd was phenomenal in every song they played. Overall, the night felt heavenly and I was in another realm with good food and better music to wrap up my Monday. Looking forward to my next visit at Curio and The Chapel where I might drink a Unicorn cocktail!
